Two local charitable groups, St. Christopher’s, Inc. — a nonprofit dedicated to helping children with special needs and their families, and The 4Jake Foundation — an organization whose mission is to create access to education and extra- curricular activities in Jake Reish’s name, today, announced a partnership to improve the lives of underserved children in the Westchester Community. St. Christopher’s will formally announce the partnership with The 4Jake Foundation on October 3rd at its 20th Annual Golf event, the James and Barbara Chin Golf Classic.
“The 4Jake foundation is honored to partner with such a worthy organization like St. Christopher’s in an effort to better the lives of children in need,” said Dr. Timothy Reish, President of The 4Jake Foundation. “I could not be more proud to have my son’s charity associated with a finer cause.”
The 4Jake Foundation was founded in 2012 in loving memory of 4-year-old Jake Reish, who was tragically taken from his loving family. Through generous time, effort, and donations, the 4Jake Foundation has been able to provide several opportunities for under-served children, including ‘Jake’s Room’ at the Briarcliff Manor Public Library. Funds from The 4Jake Foundation have led to the refurbishment of the playground at the Scarborough Presbyterian Children’s Center. It has also established an annual scholarship awarded to a Briarcliff graduating senior who has excelled academically and athletically, and has shown strong character throughout their four years in high school and have given back to the community.
“We are honored to partner with The 4Jake Foundation, given the amazing similarities in mission,” said Eric Lebenson, Chief Development Officer, St. Christopher’s. “With both organizations coming together we have no doubt that we could each support the other; St. Christopher’s could increase the possibilities of a long-lasting legacy in Jake’s name, and 4Jake could set up opportunities on our campuses that allow our residents to lead happy and productive lives.”
